When the pandemic shut down in-person learning across California, children became isolated behind screens. At the Bread of Life Mission in downtown Los Angeles, we responded by hiring a dedicated tutor, Rachel, to bring connection and continuity back to our kids’ education. Working face-to-face at the Mission—their home—she built caring relationships, supported schoolwork, and kept curiosity alive. Our tutoring approach is rooted in exploration, creativity, and smiles.
